Hi. We have a court date of June 24. Our agency just told us today that MOWCYA has told them that they are not going to be held to the 5 per day anymore, starting with cases where the preliminary hearing is in June. Instead, MOWCYA indicated to our agency that they intend on doing a full investigation into each case "just like USCIS is doing" and that agencies should "give them time". Have you heard anything like that? Our agency told us they don't know what it means - that MOWCYA is being intentionally vague. Our agency is anticipating this is bad news and is cautioning us that we may not have a MOWCYA letter for quite some time after our Court Date. I wanted to post this in case anyone else has heard anything like this or can add insight.
ReplyDeleteI have not heard anything like this as a for sure. I have heard that the 5 per day would allow for such investigation. I have also heard that the US embassy and other embassies have offered to do this investigation along with or for them. Nothing official, and not even a statement that I have seen or heard of has been released indicating if any of this is accurate. I will certainly keep my eyes open for anything. I do know that some agencies are having their cases scrutinized more closely but do not know which agencies those are. Please post anything you learn as a comment here. It helps us all.
